My big move…

In 2009, I moved from Hull to Scunthorpe — it was not an ideal move, but essentially it was better for my family at the time. In September of the same year, I started secondary school until 2014 when I left and went to college on and off for a few years.

Now, in 2021, I have made the big decision to move back to Hull to pursue better education, better jobs and a new life and I am terrified. When the idea to move back to the place I grew up, the thought was exciting and petrifying but it seemed like a logical idea for me. Everyone was extremely supportive and happy for me even though it was a huge step. Initially, the idea was to move towards the end of 2021 given the fact I had no idea when the pandemic was due to begin winding down but when Boris Johnson announced that June 21st was a good date to remove all the legal restrictions on social distancing etc. I thought it would be wise to have moved by time that came around so I was settled and ready for whatever the post-Covid world would bring.

On the 29th of March, I viewed a room at a student accommodation in Hull and very quickly I was getting ready to move. On the 6th of April, I received a text saying I was able to move in relatively soon. I agreed that Saturday 17th April would be the best and most logical date to move in.

I wanted to start this blog to act as a diary for the next few months and an outlet for what I have to say on things. I hope you will join me on this crazy, exciting and terrifying journey!
